May 26, 2002 I just got to see Spider-Man today! Cool movie, and Tony told me there is going to be a sequel. And since Sam Raimi directed the film, guess who else made cameo appearances? Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead, the Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness), Lucy Lawless (Xena Warrior Princess), and his brother Ted Raimi. May 24, 2002 Happy Birthday Ericka! So the printer problem is fixed. If only I had known that bios is always the answer. And I updated the website so it has nifty backgrounds, unlike the mirror site. Please tell me which looks better. All the buttons on the page are from Boogie Jack's because I don't have photoshop and so is the floral background. The center textured block is from Backgrounds by Marie and they do a nice job too. I'd want to be linked back if I were them too. I also added the button on the left that is now the link of the day page. May 19, 2002 So I've had these photos from the MBNA Walk for Education in Wilmington that I've just been dying to put on my site. I figure a dino a day keeps the doctor away. The dinosaurs are here. I didn't know what they were about either. New Subject Computer Problems: I've gotten most everything working on my mom's computer. That's a surfboard modem, a cable/dsl router with a firewall, a new flatscreen monitor, a digital camera, but no printer. What am I doing wrong? I'm at the point where I don't think it's me. I think it's WINDOWS. That's right, Windows ME, the most pompus piece of windows paraphranalia. Not Windows 2000, not WindowsXP, somewhere in between those programs that work, but just cheap enough that if you install the wrong ethernet card that's compatable with 2000, 98, 95, NT and XP but not with ME. What I've done so far: 1) Deleted all Printers 2) Checked the LPT1 Port 3) Changed settings on the LPT1 Port IRQ settings and subsequently lost the ability to detect my two CD-ROM drives 4) Set the LPT1 Port Back to Basic Configuration and got my drives back 5) Installed the Canon BJ-200e printer again from the ME disk 6) Deleted the Canon BJ-200e printer again 7) Downloaded and installed the new driver for the Canon BJ-200e from the Canon website END RESULT: The printer will beep and make this pregnant with a printing page sound but not spit out any text or paper. Call to all techies TELL ME what to do! May 17, 2002 Yes, I did see Star Wars at midnight on Wednesday. Yes, that qualifies me as a nerd, but I was a nerd in good company, with the exception of the boys that brought their light sabers. What did I think? Dialogue was a little choppy, but fact that we see Yoda kick some major butt is worth the price of admission.
